What Does Jesus Mean When He Says to Hate Your Family in Luke 14:26?

What Does Jesus Mean When He Says to Hate Your Family in Luke 14:26? I answered that question on this week’s episode of Real Truth. Real Quick.

Show Notes:

Principles:

  1. We should never hide behind our love for God as an intentional means to dishonor our parents.
  2. Our ultimate devotion should be to Jesus, but we are not to stop honoring our father and mother.
  3. If our parents’ counsel isn’t informed by God’s Word, it might look like we hate their counsel. You should always follow the counsel of Jesus.
  4. Never sacrifice your devotion to Jesus.
  5. If your parents are not in the Lord, honor them and don’t speak evil of them, but serve your King.
